Job Roles And Skills
Audio Visual
The reason why I have chosen to do audio visual is because, I have lots of experience in that category. For example, I have done script writing, directing and many more. However, I mostly specialise in script writing and acting as they are the ones I have done the longest.
Mind Map of Job Roles in Audio Visual
The skills that are needed within these jobs is communication. For example, if you are the musicians for the product you will constantly need to ask the producer if the sound of music you are distributing is suitable for that scene. However, a producer would also need communication as they will be leading their crew into how they want their product to be created. They would need to have a commanding voice that everyone can hear, they also need to be able to talk to individuals to talk them through what ideas you are getting through to them. Also, you would need experience in technology, this is because if you were set to be the camera crew or the editing crew you would need the experience at a professional level for using a camera, as you would need to know the perfect distance for shots and shot techniques within the film. To be in the editing crew you would need lots of experience with computers and the app you are using to create the final piece of the product. This is because film companies or music companies would like their product to be finalised to a professional standard. However, to be a special effects artists you would need knowledge in technology. This is due to having to program character movements having to be copied from stage on to a laptop in order for them to use CGI. An example of this would be Avengers Infinity War with the fight scene between the Hulk and Thanos, as both actors would wear a suit that is linked to a computer which copies out the characters movement and sound, this will then use the models of the characters that are wanted to be used in the film to look more realistic, rather than someone wearing an actual suit of Hulk and Thanos which looks like someone straight out of a birth day party. In addition to this, another skill you would need when working in audio and audio visual is creativity. An example of job roles that would need this would be set design, script writer, and acting. This is because a script written would need to not only write down the words the actors need to say, but also add in with the stage directions that would explain the characters movement and how they project their voice. The reason why a set designer would need to be creative is because they need to have a sense of idea of how they are having the stage or filming locations are set out. For example, the set designer would be in charge of designing or buying props or creating the atmosphere set around the stage to make it fit in with scene taking place. The reason why acting would need creativity is because an actor would need to fit in to the role they have been given, and try to act out what they are reading from the script and make it a reality. An actor would also need to come up with their own ideas to make their character more unique. For example, facial expressions, movement, voice projection, and even changing your voice to make them stand out.
